I believe that Hip-hop is both degrading to woman and promoting an openness about questionable views on woman in society. We see now a sort of culture or sub-culture of people who tend to believe the ideals seen in hip-hop imagery, it’s sad but Hip-hop, I believe, promotes negative views on woman and dehumanizes them to nothing more than bodies to dance in the background. The woman are in these videos are degraded and voiceless.

I see why you may feel this way, especially if you have self respect. However, some women like being associated with this image. These women are probably the same that are actually strutting around in these videos. They take pride in the body and look they’ve worked for, why shouldn’t they show it off? In a sense, they are showing their pride about themselves.
I agree with you that they are pretty much voiceless. After all, they usually say nothing. But hey, talk to cheap. Actions speak louder than words! These women are doing what they want to do instead of talking about it.
Furthermore, it’s entertainment. Many people really want to see these videos. It’s a person’s right to pursue his or her interests. So just as a person has the right to seek out this form of entertainment, a person has a right to create this form of entertainment.
